Comments are very welcome and encouraged, but they must follow certain basic guidelines:
(1) Avoid gross or plainly unnecessary vulgarity; occasional ‘locker room language’ is fine as long as it doesn’t become excessive
(2) Show respect and courtesy for other commenters; the goal is to stimulate conversation, and even if you seriously disagree or disapprove of another person’s thoughts you should express this attitude in an appropriate manner
(3) Make an effort to move the discussion forward; not every comment need be revolutionary, but try to keep the majority of your comments on point or meaningful
